Last year around this time @maaike00 and I found out we had been awarded the Ampersand Fellowship where we'll have the opportunity to live in New York for a month. It felt like receiving a letter from Hogwarts.
That month is now just a few weeks away and I'm starting to share some of the works I've been producing for our duo show called 'Counterfactuals' opening at @davidkrut.nyc on 12 September.

@maaike00 and I (as @soft_serve_projects ) had the honour of doing the creative direction for the publication Artists’ lo-fi, DIY and Alternative Publications in South Africa. It began as a roundtable discussion at Jack Ginsberg Centre for the Book Arts last year, chaired by Prof. David Paton. David approached us to put together a printed publication and we decided to print each essay as its own Risograph zine, put together as a lucky packet.

A massive thank you to @dani.ella.creates and @bibiscreativeclub for the design, @callums.artsymess , @pagesandleaves and @doodle_noodles00 for printing and @wetink_fine_art_printing for cropping and binding. All of you went beyond what was expected.

The exhibition opening and publication launch (limited copies available) is happening this Saturday (2 Aug) from 11:00 at @now_gallery_openwindow . Link in bio for more info.

One of the things you’ll find on my new site is that I now sell tattoo tickets for R350 (link in my linktree).

What’s a tattoo ticket? It’s a small donation that gives you my permission to use or adapt one of my existing illustrations for a tattoo. You’ll get a downloadable certificate to show your tattoo artist, and you’re welcome to request a high-res file from me so your tattoo doesn’t look like beast Jesus. (There’s nothing stopping you from just getting the tattoo without my permission, but a tattoo ticket is just better manners:)
